The Spectrum of Security

This month’s St. Louis Small Business Monthly issue features yet another article by Datotel president David Brown – “The Spectrum of Security.” With recent data breaches and hacks affecting two large technology companies, it’s a great, timely read.

It’s also important to remember that this spectrum of security is imperative to the cloud. Though it seems like data security in the cloud would be a foreign, hard-to-tackle task, it is actually very similar to hard data security. The cloud isn’t a nebulous “thing” that’s just out there (though the name might imply that;) instead, cloud data is always residing on a physical piece of hardware, which is why the tips outlined in the Small Business Monthly article apply just as easily to this type of data storage.
