The economy might have reduced our disposable income and available dollars to invest back into our community, but that hasn’t stopped Datotel employees from finding other ways of impacting the community in which we work and live. A number of employees recently took part in the annual United Way Servathon. This is a full day event involving hundreds of volunteers aged 8 and up getting together for a day of service.
This year the event was focused around beautification projects in Queeny Park and Creve Coeur Park, here in St. Louis. At Queeny Park employees took part in helping spruce things up, clearing overgrowth, making the park more accessible and usable as well as less labor intensive projects with some United Way agencies. At Creve Coeur Park over a mile stretch of walking and biking trails were built.
A great day was had by all and we found it rewarding to be able to give back to the community even in challenging economic times. The spirit of teamwork and the opportunity to work side-by-side with other committed members of our community was a positive and uplifting experience.
